So I took a class on Sufism the other day and am fascinated how their poetry can be interpreted as both praise to the Divine from the mortal as well as from lover to beloved. Here is my try at it!

There’s nowhere else to go,

Not when You are light and You are home.

No adventure to go on unaccompanied,

With You I shall roam.

I open my eyes and

You are all that I see

There’s nothing more to this world

Except You with me

You are breath and heartbeat,

And pulse to my life force.

You are the name I still call,

When my voice turns hoarse.

At Your feet I lay,

All the pittance that is me.

You are hope, You are Heaven

You are my final destiny.
