Fiery Feather

Go up in flames,

Light the sky,

Streak it red,

Reach up high

Set it on fire,

And cascade the earth,

With burning embers

and golden dust.

Touch that high point,

In ecstasy,

Disintegrate, break down,

Into the clear blue sea.

Shatter into,

Glittering shards,

Float to the bottom,

Like a fallen deck of cards.

Glow within swirling waves,

Ignite and burn,

The water away.

Lie like hot crystals,

On the sandy sea bed

Like burning tears,

Long ago shed.

And all at once,

Fly together,

A burning mass,

A fiery feather.
